Dave Cook has been active in the real estate industry since 1977, and has been a broker, developer, and a consultant. He  applies his years of experience in land planning, project approvals, and development to help add value to his clients’ projects.

After attending UC Davis in the early 70’s Dave worked as a carpenter, doing residential remodeling and new home construction, then as a residential resale associate in the late 1970’s. Dave graduated with a double major from UCD and held a California Brokers license from 1980 to 1994 and served as a Project Manager and Sales & Marketing Director for a homebuilding company. In the late 1980’s he managed condominium conversions for Regis Homes, and handled west coast apartment acquisitions for a venture with Paine Webber. Dave has worked for private and public homebuilding companies, serving as Sales and Marketing Director, Director of Land Acquisitions, and Division President. Later, as a principal in his own development projects, Dave gained the experience, knowledge, and perspective that few consultants ever get and many will never understand. Since the early 2000’s he has provided land planning, entitlement, and development consulting services to projects encompassing more than 1,900 residential lots.

In 2006 Dave joined and became Managing Principal for RCH Group, a boutique real estate consulting firm providing land planning, environmental, entitlement, community outreach, and project management services. He has provided feasibility, infrastructure, and project management services for a variety of clients throughout his career, focusing primarily on projects in Placer County. Prior to RCH Group, Dave was a principal in his own development projects, including three Granite Bay custom lot developments, and has served as owner-builder on three custom homes.

Dave was Managing General Partner and a minority owner for Granite Bay Golf Club and the Residences, the adjacent 72-lot custom home neighborhood. As a principal in his projects, he has been responsible for everything from land acquisition to project financing, planning, approvals and permits, to site development, sales and marketing, and homeowner’s association formation and management.

After 11 years with RCH, Dave decided to go back out on his own, and in May 2017 he began providing the same high quality real estate consulting to clients through his new entity, Cook Development Consulting Services, LLC.


Dave and his wife Janice reside in the third home they’ve built, this one within the neighborhood he developed in conjunction with Granite Bay Golf Club. When Dave’s not working on his clients’ projects or travelling to visit grandchildren, he can usually be found riding his road bike or playing golf…
